Colorwork Chart Checker

Colorwork Chart Checker is not another chart editor. Bring the chart you already made in Stitch Fiddle, Chart Minder, a spreadsheet range or a photo of an existing chart, and it audits every cell and hands back a defect list plus a corrected export. The float audit is exhaustive and binary, re-run on every edit: every run of a carried color longer than your own stitches-per-inch is found by row and column with an exact count, ranked by severity so a clean chart is silent and the four runs that will actually pucker are the four you see. Each flagged run comes with staggered catch-float positions so the catches never line up into a visible vertical scar, and applying a fix patches the chart and immediately re-audits. Value contrast is treated as a reading, not a number: CIELAB L* over your palette, with every adjacent pair graded into three bands — clearly separated, borderline, will read as mud — beside a grayscale render of the same motif, because lightness, not hue, is what makes a motif legible and a phone photo of fuzzy yarn is not colorimetry. The chart is drawn at YOUR fabric's aspect ratio (rows/inch ÷ sts/inch, from your blocked swatch), so what you draw is what you knit. Motif repeat is checked against the round stitch count with the remainder named, and per-row stitch-count conservation flags the shaped rows that do not add up. Reader mode puts the true-ratio chart on a phone at the needles: huge current-row highlight, tap anywhere to advance, position held across sessions, screen wake lock, fully offline. Storage is bounded state only — gauge, float policy with fiber presets, palette and your reader position — while the chart lives in IndexedDB and exports as .json, .csv or a true-ratio .png, so the app never becomes the only copy.
